Pachira Aquatica is this year’s must-have plant. Not only is it pretty (its stems naturally braid as it grows), but it’s easy to take care of and thrives in indirect sunlight.
Prayer Plants
Popular in the 1980s, these colorful beauties are popping up on shelves and countertops. Their broad leaves with vibrant stripes make them a welcome addition to any room.
Bird of Paradise
Tall and stately with broad, arching leaves, this tropical beauty can grow to over 6 feet with proper care.
Snake Plant
If you want a no-frills plant that pairs perfectly with the Pantone color of the year, Classic Blue, then the snake plant is for you. They grow in a variety of colors, so you’re sure to find one that suits your decorating scheme.
Parachute Plant
If you’re into succulents but want something unusual, Ceropegia Sandersonii is for you. This evergreen, succulent perennial has twining stems that bear heart-shaped leaves. Its flowers, which appear in summer in fall, look like tiny parachutes.
Choose the plant that will thrive in your room’s light. And some of these plants are practically maintenance-free, making them ideal for those of us who don’t have a green thumb!
