Here's what you'll need...

1. Paint your pallets

Painting pallets

Don't worry, you don't need to do anything to prep most pallets as they usually come pre-treated. If you can though, try to opt for those that seem to have been kiln-dried. Stir the paint thoroughly, to begin with, then use a mini-roller to apply a nice even finish on the wood. In those areas that are hard to reach with the roller, use a brush.

2. Secure the base

To create a base, begin by stacking pallets on top of each other to reach the desired height. Once you've found a height you're happy with, use screws and an electric drill to secure the pallets together. Make sure the pallets align neatly for maximum style.

3. Form the back

The next step is to secure the back. Use another pallet, dropped into a vertical position to create the back of your chair. You'll need to use your drill once more and screw it in securely. Careful to get the exact angle you're looking for.

4. Make it comfy

Now you've made it structurally sound, time to make sure it's looking glam and feeling comfy. We recommend using some pallet furniture cushions - which are available in many hardware stores. Then, add pops of color with accent pillows, potted plants, and paper pom-poms. Personalize and make it your own.

Pallet table

1. Size up

So now that you've got your gorgeous garden sofa ready, you're going to need a table to set down drinks and ornaments.

Again, paint your pallets the desired color, then think about size. Do you want your table to be fairly large? If so, you may not need to do any sawing. If, however, you want something smaller than you'll need to cut your pallet to size.

2. What height?

The desired height of your table will determine how many pallets you'll need. Do you want it fairly low? Then two will be ideal. For higher setups, add more pallets. You could create legs by cutting smaller blocks of pallet to fix to each corner of the table.

3. Bring it all together

It's drill time. Arrange your pallets one on top of the other, and drill each corner to the pallet below it. Take care to ensure all the sides of the pallets line up with each other to give a nice even finish.

4. Time to arrange your furniture

Whichever way you decide to use your new garden furniture, enjoy it. Happy creating!
